Laser Hair Removal in Avignon

Diode Laser

Laser hair removal is THE technique for long-lasting hair removal. It allows you to remove unwanted hair and improve your daily comfort!

It is a medical procedure that eliminates hair through photothermolysis. Our clinic is equipped with a state-of-the-art SUBLIM diode laser from Deleo°, allowing us to treat all skin types (from light to dark) safely.

Laser hair removal is performed only in a cosmetic medicine clinic with a certified laser specialist present who will manage any potential complications. Underdosing the laser machine or scheduling sessions too close together can reduce the treatment's effectiveness. Extra caution is also necessary when using laser hair removal on fine facial hair (cheekbones, cheeks, upper lip, etc.). Indeed, in some cases, laser treatment can stimulate the growth of fine hair instead of eliminating it; this is called paradoxical regrowth. The doctor will take all necessary measures to minimize this side effect.

Our medical team is experienced and trained in laser hair removal techniques by accredited organizations.

That's why choosing your medical practice is essential!

Who is it for?

Everyone! Men or women, if you wish to treat unwanted hair. Please note that laser hair removal is contraindicated if you are taking Roaccutane or any photosensitizing medication.

For women, it is recommended to have stable hormones and not be pregnant.

Results are more partial in men and on hormone-dependent areas such as the face.

Which Areas? All!

Areas for Laser Hair Removal

At what age should I start laser hair removal?

Generally speaking, permanent laser hair removal can be performed from the age of 16. However, the younger you start, the more sessions will be required. Hair growth is hormone-dependent, and it is ideal to wait until hormonal maturity, which occurs around 25 to 30 years of age for women and 35 years of age for men.

When?

Year-round, provided you protect yourself from the sun. Avoid intense sun exposure and the application of self-tanner 15 days before treatment and for 15 days after hair removal. Also, avoid taking carotene-based dietary supplements.

Goal?

To reduce the number of hairs in the treated area by 90%.

Social Downtime?

None.

Before your session :

  • Do not wax, use LED light, cream, or tweezers for at least six weeks prior to the session.
  • Shave two days beforehand (if facial hair removal is possible, trim the hair) leaving a small patch of hair. This will allow us to assess the quality and color of your hair before the laser treatment and adjust the settings as precisely as possible, at least for the first session.

What to expect during a session ?

During your first, free consultation, your doctor or their assistant will examine you and provide a personalized quote. They will give you all the necessary information, including the number of sessions required. Multi-zone packages with reduced rates and no commitment will be offered.

Performed by doctors or specialized medical assistants, this technique is relatively painless and requires no prior anesthesia. Therefore, it is recommended that you arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and any numbing or moisturizing creams before your session.

During the session, a powerful blast of cold air, available on our Sublim laser, is delivered simultaneously to the laser. However, everyone's pain tolerance varies, and the laser treatment can be more or less painful depending on individual sensitivity. Therefore, in some cases, an anesthetic cream prescribed by the doctor may be applied an hour before the session.

Tattoos and moles are covered, and the doctor will provide you with protective eyewear to ensure you are treated in safe conditions. The doctor or assistant then passes the laser over the entire area to be treated. Once the treatment is complete, the skin will be slightly red. The hairs destroyed by the laser will fall out on their own within a few days after the session.

And then what?

The hairs will continue to grow and then fall out. Some redness may persist for a few hours.

Several sessions are necessary (generally between 4 and 8). Initially, the sessions will be spaced 6 weeks apart, and then the interval between sessions will be adjusted to slow hair regrowth.

Maintenance sessions may be necessary once a year.
